Biography

Bethany M. Hearn, CPA/ABV/CFF, is a principal at CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen LLP) in Champaign, Illinois. She leads Valuation, Forensic, Litigation and Investigation Services for CLA and specializes in valuation and litigation services for privately held companies and attorneys. She performs valuation and litigation services for succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, marital dissolutions, shareholder disputes, and gift and estate tax purposes.  During her 30 plus years of experience, she has provided expert witness testimony on valuation and forensic related matters in multiple states. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Illinois and is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF). Ms. Hearn regularly teaches on valuation topics for professional organizations and at state and national conferences and has served as a faculty member for the AICPA’s National Business Valuation School. She also served as a member and chair of the AICPA ABV Credential Committee, Chair of the AICPA ABV Exam Task Force, was the 2018 AICPA BV Volunteer of the Year, and is the current chair of the AICPA FVS Executive Committee. Ms. Hearn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University, Dekalb, Illinois.
