This session will cover some helpful practice and cultural competency skills for working with clients, especially in pro bono and other access to justice contexts. Presenters will address various scenarios that may come up when working with legal service projects and pro bono clients.

  • Building a personal toolkit for working with pro bono clients
  • Enhance social work & expectation management skills
  • Learn how to work with other advocates, social service providers (translators, counselors, GAL)
  • Determine appropriate and successful referrals
  • Know what to do if you experience a challenging interaction
