  Preston Shipp is currently Disciplinary Counsel at the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. Prior to joining the Board, Preston served as an appellate prosecutor in the Tennessee Attorney Generalís office from 2004 until 2008. Before working as an assistant attorney general, Preston clerked for two years for the Honorable Judge David H. Welles on the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. He has also served as an adjunct professor in the Department of History, Politics and Philosophy of Lipscomb University, where he has taught Judicial Process, Criminal Law & Procedure, Street Law, and Ethics and the Laws of Compliance.

Preston received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2002, and his Bachelor of Arts from Lipscomb University in 1999. He has been licensed to practice law in Tennessee since 2002, and in 2006, he was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America.

Preston and his wife Sherisse live in Nashville, Tennessee with their three children, Lila, Ruby, and Levi. They volunteer regularly with the Nashville Prison Ministry and the Nashville Food Project.
