Legal Issues on Effective Communication in Medical Settings

Description:

Lawyers will learn about the laws that require doctors' offices, hospitals, and other medical providers to provide effective communication to people with disabilities. This will include information about communicating with people who are deaf and when it is necessary to provide sign language interpreters. This session will focus on how to advise medical providers so they can proactively provide effective communication and avoid complaints. ADA compliance and effective communication is a win-win for people with disabilities, client communication, and medical providers.
