Mental Health and Competency to Stand Trial

Description:

This session will present a basic primer on mental health problems common in the criminal and juvenile justice populations and will help you identify red flags that indicate that a competency evaluation is needed. Common mental health evaluation techniques will be reviewed, including psychological testing, and we will discuss how best to utilize forensic mental health experts. In addition, this session will discuss how to identify common errors in forensic mental health reports.
