Description: The traditional practice of law isn’t for everyone, but remember being told before you attended law school that “there are tons of things that you can do with a law degree.” Well with this session, you’ll see some of the nontraditional paths that your colleagues have taken and learn what prompted them to explore the road less traveled by. What is a nontraditional practice, what career paths are available for Tennessee lawyers, and what is the benefit of having an active law license outside the practice of law? These are questions many of us have considered, but may have hesitated to ask. So this presentation will discuss many of these questions, as well as the route to transitioning to a nontraditional practice (or career outside the law) and the dilemmas and high-points that come with venturing into uncharted waters.
