Description: This course covers the basics of Tennessee law concerning covenants not-to-compete. It will first discuss the standard applicable to restrictive covenants associated with the sale of a business. It will then turn its attention to the standard applicable to the covenant found in employment settings. After addressing the standard applicable to employment settings, the course will turn its attention to the Tennessee "Rule of Reasonableness" approach which is used to modify an unreasonable restriction and will finish with a brief discussion of the various forms of relief that are available for breach of an otherwise restrictive covenant.
