Description: A firm that is poorly managed exposes itself to risk of malpractice and ethics complaints. That is probably an aspect of risk management that you may not have considered. Ineffective management, incompatible practice areas, a culture that promotes individualism over institutionalism (in firms of more than 3 attorneys), failure to train associates and properly supervise them and even your compensation system may expose you to malpractice claims. This course will discuss some of the more familiar errors resulting in malpractice claims and ethics complaints and will attempt to tie these exposures to some of these other “cultural” factors that are not so familiar and that may be at the root of the frequency of these problem areas.
